Megan & Neema: Art Deco with Kentucky Flare

Megan and Neema came to us with a challenge: they needed help planning their wedding, and it was three months away. So, needless to say, we hit the ground running. Villa Montalvo in Saratoga was the scene for their July 4th wedding so the Art Deco theme was perfect.

We leveraged geometric patterns from the invitations to create the stationery system, used subtle blush accents in florals and linens, and incorporated gold accents throughout (for a little bling, duh!)

Megan blew us all away in an elegant beaded gown while the two exchanged their “I Dos” in the Villa’s Oval Garden with floral garlands lining the aisle, and petals tossed for their exit as “Mr & Mrs.” The guests then made their way down into the courtyard where they found their champagne escort cards, grabbed a Mezcal Margarita (Neema’s fave) and mingled by the fountain or under an umbrella for some shade.  At last, we escorted guests onto the terrace with the Villa on one side and the lawns on the other -- people were stunned, and we were too. It was simply beautiful. The place settings were pristine: blush shimmer napkins, beautiful gold chargers, custom menus, sealed with a small bouquet of spray roses. And the centerpieces, Studio Mondine knows how to make beautiful arrangements - dahlias, roses, hydrangea - we had it all. There were meaningful touches sprinkled in throughout the evening including: a beautifully choreographed first dance, the groomsmen singing to Megan during dinner, traditional Persian dances, and these were just the icing on the cake of a perfect evening.

What resulted, was a gorgeous celebration, a classy reception, a beautiful couple and a really fun party (with plenty of Kentucky bourbon flowing).

See for yourself.

xoxo,

K

Brittany & Justin: Rustic Glamour at Holman Ranch

Holman Ranch is what I have to thank for bringing these two to us. Because we had already planned and designed Joel & Sariah’s wedding at the ranch, they hired us for our “expertise” (haha). We enjoyed every minute working with them. Brittany loves bling and had hoped to get married at a Tuscan Villa, but given the size of their family (and Justin’s practical side) they ruled this out. Holman definitely has an Italian feel and a bit of flare (but is much closer to Brittany & Justin's hometown), so it came in a close second.

We planned over wine and italian food which definitely helped with the Italian vibe. We gravitated towards neutrals and greens with a hint of glitz, which led us to tons of eucalyptus, mercury glass, lace and gold chargers. The ceremony was stunning - B & J looked absolutely gorgeous and their bridal parties weren’t too shabby either ;) We opted for simple aisle arrangements of green lemon leaves with a bunch of roses, and we had wine barrels as the focal point of the altar with Carmel Valley as a backdrop.

The dinner was something straight out of a movie with beautiful people, an accordionist playing in the background, and some amazingly heartfelt speeches. Justin is a lover of candy so we designed a Candy Bar featuring all of Justin’s favorites, in addition to a cake for Brittany. After dessert, Brittany and Justin busted a move (complete with props, acting, and SF Niner jackets)...it.was.awesome.

Love you guys! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

Alex & Aliki: A Secret Garden

These two people hold a special place in our hearts for many reasons -- one, we’ve known the bride since childhood (and we knew we loved Aliki the second we met him), two, they’re absolute sweethearts, and three, they were the first clients to completely trust us with their wedding. Alex came to us saying, “I’m not picky at all, and I like a vintage garden theme” and the rest is history.

The hunt was on to find the perfect items to help bring the theme to life. We spent days pouring through antique shops, farms, and ranches to find fabrics, watering cans, and baskets to help create the secret garden. Ivory, Lace and Sage Green coupled with wildflowers and copper accents were our core design elements.

The day itself was perfect - it was a warm beautiful day in Monterey and the Perry House was the perfect setting for Alex and Aliki’s special day. Its old charm and beautiful gardens housed an amazing celebration, that I often still daydream about -- it was perfect.

Alex stunned with a breathtaking Watters gown, baby’s breath floral crown, and a beautiful wildflower bouquet. Aliki maintained his cool personality with his Converse while still looking stunning in his suit with Reef (their precious son and ringbearer) not far behind. The ceremony was heartfelt, the reception was genuinely fun, and dessert was the icing on the cake -- the donuts were a fan favorite!

Best. Day. Ever.
