Natassia & Jared: A Classic Romance Wedding

I've known Tassia for a couple of years now because she has been a bridesmaid in two of our past weddings (Megan & Neema and Brittany & Justin) and she's an absolute doll! She helped us wrangle missing groomsmen, gave wonderful speeches, and helped keep everyone in line. So naturally when she asked us to help with her wedding, we raised our hands and celebrated!

This girl has class and so does her adorable hubby Jared, so they chose the historic Grand Island Mansion outside of Sacramento and our jaw dropped when we saw the place - gorgeous gardens, amazing fountains and a stunning interior. Needless to say, we had a high bar to meet with the design and production of this wedding, so we started with black tie. The gals wore dresses that looked as if they had come out of Carrie Bradshaw's closet and the guys dressed in clean black and white tuxes. The design was simple, yet classy: gold chargers, lush floral garlands, simple stationery, and black velvet finishes.

Not only did these two want a beautiful wedding, but they wanted an unforgettable dance party and plenty of delicious cocktails. With a playlist complete with Beyonce and Britney, Pear Ginger Martinis and Tequila Shots, an awesome guest list, and a Spinning Game Wheel, it was a party! (We were even out dancing for a song or two with our favorite former brides.) Everyone danced the night away, munched on SF's favorite Sift cupcakes, and then sent the newlyweds off with a stunning sparkler exit.

Thank you both for being awesome and for letting us help you create your BIG day!

Heather & Zander: A Wedding at Annadale Farm

Where do I even begin with this one? The amazing couple, the perfect setting, or the beautiful details? Let’s start with the couple: meet Heather and Zander. We met a couple years ago through my cousin in Connecticut (who owns K&K Creative who designed all the paper goods for the wedding), and when they moved to SF we knew it was fate. We share a love of wine, cats, and Bob's Donuts, so when they asked me to help plan their wedding, the answer was simple: Hell YES! So it began…

The location was set: Annadale Farm in Gordonsville Virginia where Zander’s family resides. The theme was farmhouse rustic which was easy because the venue was exactly this, so the challenge was simply how to get everything to the farm. We foraged flowers from local flower farms (this was HEAVEN!), sourced rustic goodies from both coasts (California, Connecticut, Georgia and Virginia), and checked a couple bags (more like 5 suitcases full of “décor” – this became Zander’s favorite word), and it was a party!

Fortunately, we had a couple days of install complete with Virginia’s orange clay dirt and big bugs, but it was still a dream. The tent sat on the perfectly manicured lawn, the bistro lights illuminated the sky, the peonies, ranunculus, and poppies sat beautifully in their rustic wood crates, and burlap draped the tables. The couple said “I Do” in front of their closest family and friends and the celebration began. The food was finger-licking-good (and even WOW-ed the SF foodies), the band had everyone on the dance floor, and the dessert bar sealed the deal. The couple was escorted off the property with sparklers and luminaries as they took off for their honeymoon. It was an absolute dream, and I wish we could relive this day over and over.

Love you both lots and thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

Megan & Neema: Art Deco with Kentucky Flare

Megan and Neema came to us with a challenge: they needed help planning their wedding, and it was three months away. So, needless to say, we hit the ground running. Villa Montalvo in Saratoga was the scene for their July 4th wedding so the Art Deco theme was perfect.

We leveraged geometric patterns from the invitations to create the stationery system, used subtle blush accents in florals and linens, and incorporated gold accents throughout (for a little bling, duh!)

Megan blew us all away in an elegant beaded gown while the two exchanged their “I Dos” in the Villa’s Oval Garden with floral garlands lining the aisle, and petals tossed for their exit as “Mr & Mrs.” The guests then made their way down into the courtyard where they found their champagne escort cards, grabbed a Mezcal Margarita (Neema’s fave) and mingled by the fountain or under an umbrella for some shade.  At last, we escorted guests onto the terrace with the Villa on one side and the lawns on the other -- people were stunned, and we were too. It was simply beautiful. The place settings were pristine: blush shimmer napkins, beautiful gold chargers, custom menus, sealed with a small bouquet of spray roses. And the centerpieces, Studio Mondine knows how to make beautiful arrangements - dahlias, roses, hydrangea - we had it all. There were meaningful touches sprinkled in throughout the evening including: a beautifully choreographed first dance, the groomsmen singing to Megan during dinner, traditional Persian dances, and these were just the icing on the cake of a perfect evening.

What resulted, was a gorgeous celebration, a classy reception, a beautiful couple and a really fun party (with plenty of Kentucky bourbon flowing).

See for yourself.
